Amigurumi, Crochet

I Still Crochet! And million other things. (aka the story of the goofy horse)

I swear my hands never stop. They always have to do something. It’s like a disease πŸ™‚ But I wouldn’t have it any other way. Sometimes I wonder what people with no hobbies do with their time. Errr…social media? πŸ˜€ Most likely. That being said, I spend a lot of time on social media as well, unfortunately. But usually because I’m sharing my projects or digging for new inspiration. Instagram is definitely addictive.

I know I’m not a very good blogger, I lack the work ethic! It can be very challenging to start writting. White blank pages scare me πŸ™‚ But I promise not to give up. I don’t have that many people to share my hobbies with, so there comes the internet.

Lately I’ve been doing way too many projects at once. I’ve been spinning yarn, designing and crocheting, writting down patterns, planning to build a craft room and trying to manage my “business”. Sometimes I squeeze in a walk or two πŸ˜€ And my “business” still deserves the quotes, haha.

Anyway, here’s one of the projects I’ve been up to (that’s all I can persuade myself to get into today πŸ˜€ )Β  >>>>

Surprise, surprise..it’s a crochet horse!!!

Ok, not much of a surprise. I don’t know how many crochet horses I already created, but it must be getting near the number 20. But this one is definitely the largest one yet.

Crochet horse, slightly murdered. Mwuhehee.

If you haven’t noticed yet, I’m what someone might call a goofy person. If you don’t like that you better run away now. I like taking goofy pictures. That is why I murdered the horse :] But he seemed pretty happy with it! Or maybe he was happy because he was finally getting new pants.

The horse’s tail posed a challengeπŸ€”

Crocheting the pants wasn’t as hard as it may seem. I don’t know how other people do it, but I started from the bottom, so the legs part was done first. Then I advanced in a circle to, ehm, literally cover the horse’s ass πŸ™‚ After that, I crocheted around the body and had to make a hole for the tail.

So that’s how the crochet horse was made. I didn’t use any patterns, just my free hand crochet instincts πŸ™‚ I have to say, the more I look at Instagram, the more I feel like this skill is not that unique. But it’s still quite fun.

  1. I love all of your horses!!! And I ❀ your sense of humor too!! I'm just like you with crochet designs lately – why waste time looking for someone else's pattern when your instincts and skills know what to do. Your work has that little something that shows it's all you – you capture a lot of personality in your amigurumi faces. πŸ˜€

    1. Awww thank you so much, that is the loveliest comment ever :)))
I think we all strive to be somewhat original, so it’s really nice to hear that there’s something unique in those crochet faces.
Isn’t it also more fun to ditch the patterns and just go with your instincts? I find it a little bit boring now to work with instructions. Of course it can save you some trouble, I guess πŸ˜€
